PART 1: If you read our last email, you know that on Feb. 22 we received a call from Kristin St.Clair (the cutie next to Martha) that WireLace was being featured in her Mesh Ombre Necklace on the MARTHA STEWART Crafts Hour, March 2. |
||
|
After first talking with Kristin, the following days were a flurry of emails and calls from a variety of helpful people at Martha Stewart Productions, arranging things you don't think about - such as getting a hotel within walking distance because you can't afford to be stuck in traffic. |

WireLace Audience Giveaway Package - Everyone received a variety of 6mm WireLace in 4 colors, Dragonfly Pin Kit Instructions, and a WireLace color Flyer -- all neatly packed with a special label "As seen on the MARTHA STEWART SHOW". Since I also received an Audience Giveaway Bag, I came back with one of our WireLace packages. I'm offering it up to a randomly selected winner who posts a comment on our FACEBOOK about our Martha Stewart adventure, INCLUDE in your comment the words "WIRELACE Audience Giveway". We'll post the winner April 1st! |

The props are on rolling tables - ours was temporarily parked in front of Martha's kitchen. Wouldn't you love a kitchen like that? |

After Kristin showed us the prop area she handed me a partially strung necklace and said, "I need you to finish this OK?" We talked briefly and then she went off to finish preparations. I had NO tools with me but had come with extra WireLace and end caps as Kristin and I hoped to meet the night before to go over some finishing options (which unfortunately didn't happen). So here I am, with two scissors a size 12 knitting needle and a necklace that needs to be finished for the live show in 45 minutes. I'm in the greenroom and yes - those are Emmys lined up behind me which I barely had time to notice. So nice to have a picture to so I can see what they looked like! Good thing Tim was a boy scout and always carries a pocket knife because he had to gently ream the cone end holes larger.
Molly, one of the producers is explaining the rehearsal which is going live in less than an hour. |

Yes - that's Kristal Wick, editor of Beading Daily, fellow Create Your Style with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Ambassador and BFF in the front row. Tim's just to the right of her in the next row back. (Is that Tim cracking a smile back there?) We got to sit with a handful of bloggers in a special section about 10 feet back from the set. I have to explain that I owe a big thanks to Kristal Wick for insisting we go. With a busy schedule preparing for Bead Fest Santa Fe, Tim and I were not going - but her relentless 'persuasion' and hearing how this was a "bucket list" item, made us see the light. Since Kristal had worked in New York and knew her way around so she said, "If you want me to, I'll go and take pictures, blog and facebook for you, so you can just 'enjoy the moment' -- so here she is! She's wearing a WireLace dragonfly pin, WireLace necklace and matching bracelet, WireLace earrings and my Rock Candy necklace -- all made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS of course! |

Never knew an hour could go by so fast! Had a quick photo opportunity and got a minute to chat with Martha. She's definitely hooked on WireLace. Maybe there's another Martha Stewart WireLace chapter in the future? |
